Jon Hamm has been in a relationship with actress Jennifer Westfeldt for a long time, but he says the two have no plans to walk down the aisle.
?I don?t have the marriage chip, and neither of us have the greatest examples of marriages in our families, But Jen is the love of my life, and we?ve already been together four times longer than my parents were married.?
Jon is also not in any rush to have kids, possibly not having any at all:
?I like kids but I also like the option to close the door,? he said. ?Becoming a parent is a whole other life, and it doesn?t stop.?
Jon lost both of his parents at a young age: his mom died when he was just 10, and his dad passed away when Jon was only 20. Losing them made him realize that you can't control life - just enjoy it while you're here.
?Losing both parents at a young age gave me a sense that you can?t really control life--so you?d better live it while it?s here,? he said. ?I stopped believing in a storybook existence a long time ago. All you can do is push in a direction and see what comes of it.?
