Lady GaGa Gossip and News
Angie Zeiderman wants to one day open for Lady Gaga and also be best friends with that artist. We doubt either will happen. But could this American Idol hopeful go on to have some kind of singing career? It's possible, based on her unique audition in Aspen last night. Referring to herself as a "vintage glitter queen," Zeiderman at first sang a terrible version of "When You Got It, Flaunt It" from The Producers. It left J. Lo intrigued, but Randy doubtful. Then, however, she busted out a rendition of "Blue Bayou" by Linda Rondstadt and damn if it didn't result in unanimous approval for Hollywood. This girl can actually sing! Are tensions rising between Madonna and Lady Gaga? In an interview with Newsweek (via the Daily Beast), Madonna commented that Lady Gaga's 2011 single "Born This Way" was a "redo" of her "Express Yourself." "I thought, this is a wonderful way to redo my song [1989's "Express Yourself"]," she says. "I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was... interesting." High praise ... not. Here's a side-by-side comparison: Lady Gaga - Born This Way vs. Madonna - Express Yourself Madonna herself is hardly the only one who's noticed the similarity. NME asked Gaga last year if the song was knockoff of Madonna's hit. She wasn't happy. "I'm a songwriter. I've written loads of music," the 25-year-old fumed. "Why would I try to put out a song and think I'm getting one over on everybody?" "What a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about. If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression." "Just because I'm the ...

Lady Gaga's officially going public with boyfriend Taylor Kinney. With a series of just-released photos in which she makes no attempt to hide her affection, the 25-year-old is finally acknowledging what we've known for months: She and The Vampire Diaries' Taylor Kinney are an item, and a cute one at that. Sources say they're taking it slow, but definitely going strong. Gaga, who first met Kinney on the set of her "You and I" music video (below) when he starred as her love interest and makeout partner, casually slung her arm over her boyfriend's shoulder as they strolled along a California beach. While the pair appear cozy and are getting along fabulously, a source close to Gaga insists they're not super serious - mostly because of the strains of her career. "They're hooking up and getting to know each other," explains the insider. "Gaga can't be too committed because she works 24/7. But she thinks he's the best!" Good to hear. Let's just hope they make ...

Pretty much everyone in the British Royal Family came in at #4, followed by the winner himself, Charlie Sheen, at #3. Which brings us to COTY finalist #2 ... ... Ms. Lady Gaga! Yes, Lady Gaga knows how to use shock value and outrageous antics to get attention, but she's so much more than a flash in the pan. The 25-year-old is an artiste, a powerhouse performer and a pop cultural sensation, through and through. Can anyone really dispute that after the 2011 she's had? "Stuck On F***in' You," an unreleased track off Lady Gaga's Born This Way album, is her Christmas gift to her Little Monsters. How very poignant and festive of her! Says Gaga: "So to give you a little background to the creation of this song. I wrote it in Minnesota after the Monster Ball on the tour bus. We recorded it in one shot. Fernando on guitar, Paul on Drum Machine. I wrote, sang it, and freestyled the last minute + a half of the song." Take a listen: Lady Gaga - Stuck On F--kin' You "Merry X-mas Little Monsters!" she Tweeted over the weekend. She notes, "We're in Minnesota/And it's a sold-out show again isn't exactly inspired free-styling, but there you have it. Christmas with bad words." There you have it. Gaga has spoken. The new poster child for frivolous lawsuits, Lady Gaga's former assistant claims she was a slave to the music superstar and demands compensation as a result. Jennifer O'Neill claims she was burdened by onerous tasks such as fetching a towel for Gaga after she showered, and keeping the Lady on a tight schedule! She claims she is owed $380,000 in overtime (7,168 hours over 13 months, or $53 an hour) that she was never paid by a touring company hired by the star. O'Neill claims she had to cater to Gaga in "stadiums, private jets, fine hotel suites, yachts, ferries, trains and tour buses" and "required to be at Gaga's beck and call." Isn't that what a personal assistant does? O'Neill was technically en employee of the touring company, not Gaga, so the singer is not personally liable regardless of the overtime compensation claim. In any case, Lady Gaga's rep told the New York Post the lawsuit is "completely without merit," and we would have to ...

Time to make sure your phone is password-protected, fellas. Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga are smitten with one another these days, but when they first got together, he was still in a relationship with Brittany Sackett, In Touch claims. Until he accidentally pocket-dialed her during an illicit date with Gaga. “I could hear her telling him he was so ‘sexy and creative,’” Sackett says, adding that she'd replace those adjectives with “dishonest and disloyal.” Again ... passwords. “In my opinion,” Brittany says as a warning to Gaga, “he’s fame-hungry.” If so, that would be one big thing The Vampire Diaries actor has in common with the star's ex, Luc Carl, who always seemed to be in love with Lady Gaga’s fame. Then again, ever since Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney got together, they have kept a low profile, staying at his beach condo with roommates instead of hotels even. You could say, in a manner of speaking, that they've got all kinds of money but they still ...

The Associated Press named the Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga, the Entertainer of the Year Monday. Not a choice you're going to find THG arguing with. Edging the late Apple founder Steve Jobs by just three votes, the 25-year-old Gaga won the annual honor, voted on by 135 AP editors and broadcasters. The award is based on who had the most influence on entertainment and culture in 2011, and from that standpoint, Jobs and Lady Gaga were neck and neck. The singer has touched on a number of facets in the past year, from a hit album in Born This Way to a record 17 million Twitter followers to her tireless social work. Shestepped up her anti-bullying efforts following the suicide of her fan Jamey Rodemeyer, a 14-year-old from Buffalo, New York, who killed himself in September. Earlier this month, Gaga met with officials at The White House to discuss the hot topic, and she also founded the Born This Way Foundation to promote the ...

She was born to be a megastar, apparently. With a staggering $90 million earned in 2011, Lady Gaga made more money than any female singer, by a mile. Taylor Swift was second with half of that total ... a paltry $45 million. Katy Perry was right behind Swift with $44 million, while Beyonce Knowles and Rihanna finished off the top five, earning $35 million and $29 million respectively. Gaga's impressive earnings were mainly due to her tour, which grossed $1.3 million a night, as well the Born This Way singer's many endorsement deals. The earnings estimates were compiled by Forbes with help from data from Pollstar, RIAA and others, as well as extensive interviews with industry insiders. The totals encompass all aggregate pre-tax income earned from May 2010-May 2011, before expenses, i.e. subtracting agent and manager fees, and so on.
